    Biography[]

    Casting[]

In 1996, infant actresses Ariella and Natalie Jamnik debuted on One Life to Live in the role of Starr Manning, before leaving the series in January 1998. From January to February 1998, the role of Starr was portrayed by Meghan Rayder.

In March 1998, the role was recast with Kristen Alderson, who was upgraded to contract status in April 2001. Alderson would continue her portrayal of Starr Manning until January 13th, 2012, at which point One Life to Live ended. Prior to the end of the series, it was announced that Alderson, along with a handful of her former cast-mates, would cross over to ABC's sole remaining soap opera General Hospital in their respective roles, debuting on February 24th, 2012.

    Brief Character History[]

    One Life to Live[]

    General Hospital[]

In February 2012, Starr, along with Cole and Hope, were driving through Port Charles, New York on their way back to Llanview, following news of Todd's arrest. Upon realizing where they were, Cole began to recount stories he had heard of the Cassadine family and their efforts to freeze Port Charles in the early eighties, as well as the love story of Luke Spencer and Laura Webber. After asking Starr to become his wife, the family were involved in a car collision with mobster Anthony Zacchara, as the result of Zacchara's back tires being shot out. With Cole unconscious, Starr made her way out of the vehicle, drawing the attention of Michael Corinthos and Dante Falconeri, before passing out herself. With Dante attempting to locate the driver of the other vehicle, Michael attempted to rescue Cole and Hope, but was unsuccessful, as the car fell over the side of a cliff and exploded.

Upon bringing Starr to General Hospital, Michael was able to find her identification, which allowed nurse Epiphany Johnson to contact Blair in Llanview. Blair eventually arrived, and after searching for details about the accident from Michael, was forced to reveal to her grief-stricken daughter that Cole and Hope had been killed. Further complicating things was the arrival of Todd, who had jumped bail for Victor's murder. Blair refused to allow Todd to see Starr, threatening to turn him in to John should he attempt to contact her. Suspicion for the accident soon began to fall upon Zacchara's long-time rival, Sonny Corinthos, who was charged with the crime.
